Police Incident Report: Sept. 24 to 30

The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

 

Chester

 

Wednesday, Sept. 24 to Sunday, Sept. 28

No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

 

Monday, Sept. 29

No arrests were made.

• An unidentified driver of a 2006 Chevy Uplander was issued a written warning at 11 a.m. for unsafe movement of a motor vehicle from a stopped or standing position after the warned driver pulled ahead and struck the left side of a 2001 Ford Escort driven by a 64-year-old man of Goose Hill Road. Both vehicles collided at the intersection of North Main Street and Water Street. No injuries were reported. A two-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl (a brother and sister from East Haddam) were onboard in child safety seats. No injuries were reported.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 30

Wednesday, Sept. 24

No arrests were made.

• A larceny at 101 Bokum Road was investigated by Officer Peter Lewis at 10:10 p.m. No details were available.

 

Thursday, Sept. 25

• A 35-year-old woman of East Hartford was arrested at 6:38 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway. She was released at 9:05 p.m. on a $500 non-surety bond pending an Oct. 10 court date.

 

Friday, Sept. 26

No arrests were made.

• An assault at 256 Kelsey Hill Road was investigated by Trooper David Tretter at 12:41 p.m. No details were available.

 

Saturday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 28

No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

 

Monday, Sept. 29

No arrests were made.

• The escape of a resident of the Mount Saint John School for boys at 135 Kirtland Street was investigated by Trooper Debra-Ann Turner at 1:59 p.m. No details were available.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 30

Wednesday, Sept. 24

No arrests were made.

• An untimely death at 30 Bokum Road was reported by Trooper Mark Testoni at 10:25 a.m.

 

Thursday, Sept. 25

No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

 

Friday, Sept. 26

No arrests were made.

• A disturbance at 27 North Main Street was investigated by Trooper Jason Corey at 4:29 p.m. No details were available.

 

Saturday, Sept. 27

No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

 

Sunday, Sept. 28

No arrests were made.

• The report of a suspicious incident at 56 Main Street was investigated by Trooper Paul Pederson at 9:51 a.m. No details were available.

 

Monday, Sept. 29

• A 27-year-old man of a Plains Road apartment was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He was released at 8:45 a.m. on a $5,000 cash bond pending court arraignment later in the day.

• At 10:02 a.m. Trooper Mark Testoni provided administrative services at 33 West Avenue. No details were available.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 30

No arrests were made.

• At 3:27 p.m. Trooper Darwin Garnett reported that a 1998 Mercury Sable driven by a 78-year-old Deep River woman heading northbound on Westbrook Road struck the right rear of a 2000 Volvo S80 driven by a 53-year-old woman of Woodland Drive in Centerbrook. The Volvo was stopped at a stop sign on Westbrook Road preparing to make a left turn onto Woodland Road. No injuries were reported and no enforcement action was indicated.
