Montville Seniors Can Shred Papers on Sept. 13 - Free Identity Protection Service

Montville’s senior citizens are encouraged to bring their outdated personal documents and records to the Senior Center on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for shredding.  The community shred, sponsored by the Montville Commission on Aging and the Montville Senior Center, is a free service to all town residents who are 60 years or older.

Seniors can bring all types of papers to be shredded, including checks and bank passbooks, according to Carol Lathrop, commission chairman.  The first come-first serve service shreds the materials on site, allowing participants to watch the process so they know their documents have been destroyed.

For more information, call the Montville Senior Center, 848-0422.

The Montville Commission on Aging meetings, held at 10 a.m. on the third Thursday of every month, are open to the public.  The meetings are held in the library at the Montville Senior Center, 12 Maple Avenue, Uncasville.
