As the new lobby and circulation desk area comes
together around them, some members of the Guilford Free Library staff receive a
tutorial on the building’s new phone system. The library’s new circulation desk
is in just about the same location as the old desk, but it’s not the same desk
at all. Fans of the old circulation desk’s semi-circular, polished granite
counter top shouldn’t despair, though–the desktop has been re-purposed and now serves
as the large, curved bench in the brick courtyard off the library’s parking lot
entrance.
The
library is slated to reopen early this month.
